Janj

The name Janj also means the area south of Šipovo towards Kupres, made up of numerous villages, which are located in and around the Janj river canyon. The Janj river canyon is a protected nature reserve. The Janj River is also known for the tourist attraction of the Janj Islands, where the Janj flows into numerous small streams that join after a few kilometers. The river Janj is extremely rich in trout and grayling, which makes it a very attractive fly fishing water. The river Janj is also a source of drinking water for the municipality of Šipovo.
